SMC College of Dairy Science competes in getting Indo-Australia collaborative project

An Indo-Australian Joint call for Proposals under Australia-India Strategic Research Fund (AISRF)-Round 10 was advertised in August-2016, in the areas of i) Advanced Manufacturing and Innovative Technologies (AMIT) and ii) Survey, Exploration and Mining of Natural Resources (land and marine). In total 32 common proposals were received against the joint call for which last date was 19th October 2016. Based on scientific merit, complementarities of the project objectives, scientific strengths of the project coordinates, national priorities of both the countries and availability of funds, Department of Science and Technology, India and Australia India Strategic Research Fund, Australia have jointly decided to support only 3 proposals. Out of these three, one of the project has been sanctioned to Dairy Science College, Anand.

Project Title : Enhancing Dairy Milk Shelf Life with PCM Thermal Energy Storage and Renewable Energy

Indian PI : Dr. Sunil Patel, Associate Professor, Dairy Engineering Department, SMC College of Dairy Science, Anand Agricultural University, Gujarat

Australian PI: Frank Bruno, Associate Research Professor, Dept of School of Engineering, Barbara Hardy Institute, University of South Australia

Project budget: Approximately Rs 6.00 crores ( 1 crore from Indian Govt and 5 crore from Australian Govt)
